Gent. Artista,
La invitiamo a partecipare al - PREMIO DI AFRODITE - concorso internazionale di arte alchemica contemporanea che si assegnerà il 21 Dicembre 2009 nella cornice di Museo Chiericati (A. Palladio) a Vicenza.

Il Premio si svolge in due selezioni:

Prima selezione
Iscrizione preliminare al sito www.federcritici.org.
Tutte le opere verranno esaminate da esperti di arte, psicologia, storia e filosofia che selezioneranno gli artisti in concorso in base a uno specifico criterio di valutazione che premia le qualità dell'anima creativa.

Gli artisti, ad insindacabile giudizio della Giuria, verranno suddivisi nelle categorie
dell'Arte Alchemica che si riferiscono alle tre fasi di sviluppo della "Nostra Arte":
1. Alchimia della percezione , denominata "Arte Nigrescente"
2. Alchimia della coscenza, denominata "Arte Rubescente";
3. Alchimia della conoscenza, denominata "Arte Albescente".

Gli artisti devono compilare il "form di iscrizione" e inserire da una a tre opere complete di una nota esplicativa.

La Giuria selezionerà 18 coppie di artisti (18 uomini e 18 donne) suddivise equamente nelle tre categorie del Premio. I 36 artisti saranno invitati ad esporre per tre settimane nel palazzo del Monte di Pietà di Vicenza sede di VI ART.

Seconda selezione
Le 18 coppie saranno invitate ad esporre una sola opera. In questa occasione gli artisti verranno giudicati da una Giuria competente negli aspetti più squisitamente tecnici, estetici e formali. Tutti gli artisti verranno premiati con l'inserimento delle loro opere all'interno del volume "L'immaginario alchemico" inviato gratuitamente alle 200 gallerie più importanti in Europa.

La giuria deciderà infine la coppia vincitrice per ogni categoria. I sei artisti verranno premiati il 21 Dicembre nella "Sala del Firmamento" di Palazzo Chiericati e le loro opere pubblicate nel volume "Arte Alchemica Contemporanea". Il libro, in edizione bilingue, sarà distribuito nelle librerie specializzate e nei bookshops dei musei internazionali in 8000 copie numerate e registrate dalla Siae.
Agli artisti verranno riconosciuti i diritti d'autore e il compenso corripondente per le copie vendute ad ogni ristampa.

La Giuria indicherà infine la coppia "mista" che più di altre sintetizza il percorso alchemico:
"...del Maschio e della Femmina e avrai la Pietra dei Filosofi" (M. Maier).
Ai due artisti finalisti verrà assegnato il "Premio di Afrodite" del valore di 5.000 euro.

Sono previsti inoltre tre premi del valore di 1000 euro che verranno consegnati dall'Associazione Artigiani nelle tre categorie dell'esperienza artistica:
- l'apprendista, il lavorante e il maestro -

Avvertenze:
Il termine delle iscrizioni è l'8 Novembre 2009. le iscrizioni sono limitate a 216 artisti.
Il presente Bando può essere soggetto a variazioni di carattere organizzativo per quanto concerne date e sedi espositive.
Sono ammesse opere di pittura, foto e grafica digitale, installazioni e sculture. Non è indispensabile la presenza dell'artista durante l'esposizione.
Le immagini dovranno essere trasmesse in formato jpg (minuscolo) e in almeno 200 dpi.

CONTEMPORARY ALCHEMICAL ART AWARD

PUBLIC COMPETITION FOR ARTISTS
You are hereby invited to take part in the APHRODITE AWARDS - an international competition for artists specialised in contemporary alchemical art - which will be presented on 21st December 2009 in the beautiful setting of the Chiericati Museum (arch.: Andrea Palladio) in Vicenza.
The selection process will occur in two separate phases:

Initial selection All participants must have first of all become members of the website www.federcritici.org
All works of art submitted will be examined by experts in the fields of art, psychology, history and philosophy, who will evaluate the participants on the basis of specific criteria aimed at identifying the quality of their creative skills.
In accordance with the final and irrevocable decision of the Jury, the artists will be subdivided into categories reflecting the three phases of individual development in alchemical lore:

1. Alchemy of perception or Art of the Nigredo phase;
2. Alchemy of consciousness or Art of the Rubedo phase;
3. Alchemy of knowledge or Art of the Albedo phase.

The artists must fill in and complete the application form and indicate from 1 to 3 works together with accompanying descriptive notes.
The Jury will select 18 pairs of artists (18 men and 18 women), who will be divided into the three categories mentioned above. The 36 selected artists will then be invited to exhibit their works for three weeks in the Vi-ART showrooms in the palazzo of the Monte di Pietà in Vicenza.

Second-level selection
At this stage the 18 pairs of artists will be invited to exhibit only one work of art. This time the artists will be judged by a Jury competent in the more strictly technical, aesthetic and formal aspects of their creative work. All of the artists will be granted the privilege of having their works illustrated in the publication L'immaginario Alchemico, sent free of charge to the 200 most important galleries in Europe.

Finally, the Jury will select a winning pair for each category. These six artists will receive their awards on 21st December in the Sala del Firmamento at Palazzo Chiericati in Vicenza and their works will be illustrated in the book Arte Alchemica Contemporanea, with parallel texts in two languages. The 8,000 formally-registered and numbered copies of this work will be distributed to specialist bookshops and international museums.

The artists will be registered for copyright and royalties deriving from copies sold after each subsequent print run. The Jury will also select from the finalists the couple most successful in reflecting the alchemical journey in relation to the male and female elements:
cfr. "... it is thus that you will find the Philosopher’s Stone" (M. Maier).

The two winners will receive the Aphrodite Award worth 5,000 Euro.
Three prizes worth 1,000 Euro will also be awarded and presented by the Artisans’ Association to the artists selected for the three levels of artistic experience: the apprentice, practitioner and master.
Please note:
The expiry date for participation is 8th November 2009.
The Competition may be subject to variations of an organisational nature as far as dates and the exhibition centres are concerned.
Works accepted include: paintings, photographs and digital graphics, installations and sculpture. The artists need not be present during exhibition periods. All images must be submitted in the jpg format formed by at least 200 dpi.
